- Clinical and basic research on autoimmune liver diseases (especially autoimmune hepatitis and primary biliary cirrhosis).
- Clinical and basic research on chronic viral hepatitis B, C and delta.
- Clinical and basic research on other chronic liver diseases (e.g. alcoholic liver disease and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease).
- Clinical research on hepatocellular carcinoma.
- Clinical and basic research on hypertension, hyperlipidemia and atherosclerosis.
- Clinical research on stroke.
- Clinical research on sepsis and infections.
- Clinical research on endemic infectious diseases in the region of Central Greece (e.g. brucellosis, leishmaniasis, leptospirosis).
- Clinical and basic research on thrombosis and thrombophilias.
- Clinical research on familial Mediterranean fever.
