Our DPMS

Purpose - Objective

The Interdepartmental Postgraduate Program "Exercise, Ergospirometry and Rehabilitation" of the Department of Medicine in collaboration with the Department of Physical Education and Sports Science of the University of Thessaly aims to:

  • in the specialization of graduate scientists in the application of exercise knowledge in the field of preventive medicine,
  • in promoting health through established methods of physical activity,
  • in understanding rehabilitation methods and applying exercise as a means of replacement,
  • in the application of skills in the areas of cardiovascular, respiratory, musculoskeletal, neurological and metabolic rehabilitation,
  • in the application of appropriate psychology to practicing populations, whether they are sick or healthy, including children and the elderly, so that they can acquire knowledge and skills for the clinical practice of the subjects they studied.

University and TEI graduates from a wide range of scientific fields have the
opportunity to specialize in Exercise, Spirometry and Rehabilitation, a field of particular interest.

Conditions
Diploma

The Diploma in Exercise, Spirometry and Rehabilitation is structured into 1.5 years/3 academic semesters, which include courses, practical training and/or the preparation of a research paper or case study.
The minimum time to complete the program is 1.5 years.
The total number of credit units (ECTS) required to obtain the Postgraduate Diploma (MPD) is 90 ECTS.

Degree

The DPMS awards a Diploma of Postgraduate Studies (D.M.S.) with the title: Practice,
Exercise Spirometry and Rehabilitation.

Student Registration

Tuition fees

The tuition fees for the DPMS amount to two thousand eight hundred (2800) euros for the three semesters of study, from €1000 for the first two semesters and €800 for the third semester of study.

Free Tuition

The total number of students who study for free may not exceed the number corresponding to thirty percent (30%) of the total number of registered students per academic year.

Applications for free tuition

Applications for free tuition are submitted after the completion of the student admission process at the DPMS and within a period of time to be determined by the DPMS itself.

Condition for free tuition

due to economic or social criteria is the fulfillment of the requirements of excellence during the first cycle of studies, which corresponds at least to the possession of a grade equal to or higher than seven and a half with an excellent grade out of ten (7.5/10).

Legal framework

According to article 86 of Law 4957/2022, registered students of a Postgraduate Studies Program (P.M.S.) may study for free, if tuition fees are required, provided that they meet the legal financial or social criteria.
