This course will cover topics related to the effect of diet on the occurrence of esophageal diseases, the role of the stomach in the normal mechanism of digestion and absorption of food, the endocrinology of the stomach, disorders of digestion and absorption of food, the role of diet in the occurrence of stomach cancer, the importance of diet and nutrition in peptic ulcer, the endocrinology of the small intestine, malabsorption syndromes and especially celiac disease, the role of diet in Idiopathic Inflammatory Bowel Diseases, the effect of diet on the occurrence of polyps and colon cancer, the role of diet in patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and in the pathogenesis of acute and chronic pancreatitis.
