Postgraduate students will be taught topics related to plant-based dietary supplements, contraindications and side effects of dietary supplements, antioxidant dietary supplements, probiotics, prebiotics, eubiotics and symbiotics, and yogurt.
The use of probiotics in acute diarrheal syndrome, in the treatment of IBD and functional disorders of the digestive system. Probiotics as an alternative treatment in the eradication of Helicobacter pylori and the prevention of peptic ulcer.
The role of probiotics in the prevention of polyps and colon cancer. The use of probiotics in liver cirrhosis and non-alcoholic fatty liver. The usefulness of probiotics in premature infants and in childhood. Psychobiotics. The use of probiotics, prebiotics and symbiotics in patients hospitalized in the ICU, in the treatment of diabetes, dyslipidemia, obesity and metabolic syndrome.
Probiotics in lung diseases, cardiovascular diseases, in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The effect of probiotics on the immune system, in the prevention of allergic conditions and dermatological diseases. The microbial flora in the 3rd age and what we expect from probiotics. International guidelines for enteral nutrition in patients with diseases of the digestive system, liver, pancreas, geriatric patients or chronic kidney disease. Parenteral nutrition preparations.
