The purpose of the thesis is to familiarize students with the scientific method for the study of nutrition in health and disease, to a degree of depth and specialization equivalent to a postgraduate level of studies.

The thesis necessarily includes conducting research, that is, studying a research question by applying the appropriate method and collecting data, which came from the use of appropriate tools or similar techniques.

The preparation of a thesis culminates in the writing of a text. The oral defense of the thesis is done publicly.

The grading criteria include the quality of the written text, the adequacy of the methodological design and course of conducting the research, and the quality of the oral presentation.
