1. Object and Purpose of the P.S.P.
Object of the P.S.P. is the provision of a high level of expertise, which includes both theoretical training and laboratory experience, as well as hands-on practice research in the fields of Reproductive Biology, Biomarkers in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Perinatal Medicine to graduates of Medicine, Biology and other Health Scientists with the aim of a successful professional career in the private and public sector. Also, after thorough and based on the most modern bibliographic data their training, graduates will be ready for doctoral level postgraduate studies.
The P.S.P. aims to better utilize the potential of graduates of the above Faculties and the promotion of the cooperation of Professors of clinics and basic areas, through the co-supervision of the graduate students of the program in question. Aims at their comprehensive training as a prerequisite for the acquisition of effective competence monitoring and adapting to the rapid developments of the highly competitive this field of science.
2. Learning Outcomes of the P.S.P
Its successful operation is expected to retain capable scientists and potential future researchers in our country. Upon completion of the P.S.P. and enlargement of higher education provided at postgraduate level and with the grant internationally recognized and competitive postgraduate qualification in "Biology of Reproduction - Biomarkers in Obstetrics and Gynecology - Perinatal Medicine", Its successful operation is expected to retain capable scientists and potential future researchers in our country. Upon completion of the P.S.P. and enlargement of higher education provided at postgraduate level and with the grant internationally recognized and competitive postgraduate qualification in "Biology of Reproduction - Biomarkers in Obstetrics and Gynecology - Perinatal Medicine", the graduates of the program are expected to contribute to the improvement of health services and the development of the economy in the country.

Each cycle (duration) of the P.S.P. leading to a Master's Degree (M.Sc.) is two (2) academic semesters for full studyThe total number of credits (ECTS) required to obtain the Master's Degree is sixty (60) ECTS as described in Article 4. Curriculum.
Conditions for obtaining a Master's Degree
To obtain the D.M.S. students must accumulate sixty (60) Credit Units (ECTS) in total. They are required to attend and be successfully examined in all courses (lectures and workshops), carry out a practical laboratory exercise and prepare a thesis. In special cases and after the recommendation of the Director of the P.S.P. the laboratory exercise can be done in a recognized specialized center at home or abroad, aiming at a high-level specialization or for the preparation of a corresponding diploma thesis. Every Student is obliged to prepare a Thesis.

In P.S.P. "Reproductive Biology, Biomarkers in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Perinatal Medicine" graduates of the Departments of Medicine, Departments of Health Sciences (Dentistry, Veterinary Medicine, Nursing) of the universities of the country or similar institutions abroad, as well as graduates of the Departments of Schools of Positive Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Pharmacy) and graduates of T.E.I. related cognitive object. Holders of a foreign degree must present the recognition of their degree from D.O.A.T.A.P. according to the criteria of Law 4957/2022.
A Master's Degree is not awarded to a student whose first cycle degree from a foreign institution has not been recognized by the Interdisciplinary Organization for the Recognition of Academic Titles and Information (D.O.A.T.A.P.). According to article 304 of Law 4957/2022, the application with the required supporting documents is submitted to the Secretariat of the P.M.S., which undertakes to examine the applications based on the criteria of Law 4957/2022, without them be accompanied by a deed of recognition of the D.O.A.T.A.P.. Since the degree from a foreign University is included in the list of the D.O.A.T.A.P., the Secretariat of the P.S.P. must request a Certificate of Place of Study, which is issued and sent by the foreign university. Applications in which the Greek territory is confirmed as the place of study are excluded, unless the part of the studies carried out in the Greek territory is in a public Higher Education Institutes according to the Greek Law 3328/2005 (A' 80).
Announcement – Invitation, Applications, Supporting Documents
The Coordinating Committee (S.E.) of the P.M.S. decides on the time of publication in the daily press and on the website of the P.M.S. of the announcement - invitation to the interested candidates, which specifies the categories of graduates accepted and the necessary qualifications, the general way of evaluating candidates, the tuition fees, the deadline and the address for submitting supporting documents. Applications are submitted on a special form, which is posted on the website of the P.M.S. or they can obtain it from the P.M.S. Secretariat.
The supporting documents that the candidates must present are the following:
- Application for participation
- Copy of degree or certificate that the candidate has fulfilled his educational obligations. The academic recognition procedures of Article 304 of Law 4957/2022 apply to holders of foreign degrees.
- Holders of a foreign degree must provide proof of the place of study.
- Detailed score of all undergraduate courses together with the score of the graduate study
- Short curriculum vitae with details of the candidate's studies, research and professional experience (with relevant evidence)
- Postgraduate certificates or diplomas, if any
- Evidence of participation in research activities, if available
- Two letters of recommendation from University or TEI Professors or A' researchers of recognized national or foreign research centers
- Diploma or certificate of proficiency in the English language mandatory and other foreign languages optional. In special cases, language proficiency will be judged by the Selection Committee
- Photocopy of both sides of the police ID
- Recent ID photo
- Declaration of Law 1599/86 "that all supporting documents are exact copies of the originals"
Tuition – Free tuition
Tuition fees
The total tuition fees for both (2) semesters of the P.S.P.. amounts to three thousand euros (€3,000.00). The payment of tuition fees is made by the student himself through the Special Account of Research Funds of the University of Thessaly. The fees are used by the P.S.P.. for all expenses required for the education of the Postgraduate Students and in general for the operation of the P.S.P. Tuition is paid in installments in two installments of one thousand five hundred euros (€1,500.00) at the beginning of each semester. In case of interruption of studies at P.S.P. the part of the fees paid is not refunded.
Free tuition
According to article 86 of Law 4957/2022, registered students of the Master's Program (M.S.) may attend it free of charge, if the payment of tuition fees is provided for, as long as they meet the legal financial or social criteria. A condition for granting the right to study free of charge due to economic or social criteria is the fulfillment of excellence conditions during the first cycle of studies, which corresponds at least to the possession of a grade equal to or higher than seven and a half with excellent out of ten (7.5/10), provided the evaluation of the basic degree presented for admission to the P.S.P. has been carried out in accordance with the ten-point evaluation scale of the Higher Educational Institution (HEI) of the country, otherwise this criterion is applied proportionally according to the respective evaluation scale, as long as the degree presented has been granted by a foreign Institution.
The total number of students studying for free may not exceed the number corresponding to thirty percent (30%) of the total number of registered students per academic year. If, during the numerical calculation of the number of beneficiaries of exemption from tuition fees, a decimal number is obtained, it is rounded to the nearest whole unit. If the number of exemption beneficiaries exceeds the present percentage, the beneficiaries are selected in descending order until the number is reached.
The submission of applications for free study per P.S.P. takes place after the completion of the admission process of the students at the P.S.P. and in a period of time that will be set by the P.S.P. itself.

Curriculum
In order to obtain the Postgraduate Diploma of Specialization (M.D.E.), students are required to: a) Compulsorily attend and be successfully examined in all courses (lectures and workshops) (44 ECTS), b) Carry out a special practical laboratory practice in IVF (8 ECTS) and postgraduate thesis (8 ECTS).
Evaluation - Selection
The selection of postgraduate students is made mainly by taking into account the special qualifications of the candidates as they emerge from the supporting documents that have been submitted and the performance of the candidates during the oral interview.
