PRESS RELEASE

1nd Seminar INTRODUCTION TO GYNECOLOGICAL ENDOSCOPY

THE Hellenic Society of Gynecological Endoscopy (EEGE) in the context of continuing lifelong education and in collaboration with University clinics and NHS clinics, it organizes introductory gynecological endoscopy training seminars for trainees and young doctors.

Today, endoscopic surgery has largely replaced classical surgery, and familiarity with it is the initial step for its application. We come today to offer these initial steps to those who did not have the opportunity to learn them during their educational course.

The beginning will be made by Larissa in collaboration with University Gynecology Clinic of the University of Thessaly. Theoretical courses of introduction to endoscopy and its application in daily practice will provide the necessary knowledge as well as the occasion for an interactive discussion regarding the methodology of laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery. This will be followed by the presentation of educational videos from surgical procedures with interesting cases in order to make the theoretical and practical approach easier to understand.

In addition, this educational module is accompanied by workshops, which in turn contribute to the familiarization of mainly new colleagues with the equipment and the set up of the tools before each endoscopic operation. Engaging colleagues at workstations with simulators is the best introduction to introspection. Specialist gynecological endoscopists and experienced trainers will contribute to the understanding of the principles of endoscopic surgery with an emphasis on ergonomics and operating room safety. There will also be a presentation of the GESEA training program leading to certification in gynecological endoscopy by ESGE.

Participation in the seminar and workshop is FREE. It will be accompanied by a Certificate of Attendance from the E.E.G.E. and the University Gynecology Clinic of the University of Thessaly. and Continuing Medical Education Units (CMEs) will be credited to those who attend.

We invite all qualified doctors as well as young Gynecologists of Thessaly who want to familiarize themselves with and deal with Gynecological endoscopy, at 24 and 25 May 2024 in the Larissa University Hospital in the seminar the companion of the practical training workshop in simulators organized jointly by the Hellenic Society of Gynecological Endoscopy and the University Gynecology Clinic of the University of Thessaly. It is our goal through this event to contribute to the ongoing education of Greek gynecologists.
