Overview – MSc Vascular Ultrasound in Diagnosis and Management

If you’re a clinician or a medical scientist who wants training in the theory and practice of vascular ultrasound, this course is for you.

Through online teaching sessions, in-person practice, and webinars, you’ll gain a solid grounding in the physics and scientific theories of vascular ultrasound.

On the course, you’ll have the opportunity to develop the practical skills to perform a diagnostic ultrasound.

This expertise will boost your career in healthcare system overall or urge you go into further research and PhD studies.

The objective of this Master Course is to provide the participants with up-to-date & high level training in screening, diagnosis and functional investigation of vascular diseases, postoperative follow-up as well as training in minimally invasive ultrasound-guided vascular disease treatment.

On this Master course you will:

 Learn the in-depth knowledge and the clinical skills required to work in the field of vascular ultrasound. This will ensure you become a confident and competent ultrasound practitioner.

 Engage in practical training to gain work-based skills. You will have access to our state-of-the-art ultrasound training laboratory, equipped with the latest ultrasound machines.

ADMISSION

Entry requirements:

We welcome students from Europe, Middle-East and all over the world and consider all applicants on an individual basis.

Qualification for admission:

Graduates from Faculties of Medicine with or without specialty (Vascular Surgeons, Surgeons, Diagnostic/Interventional Radiologists, Cardiologists, Neurologists, Ophthalmologists, Anesthesiologists)
Graduates from Schools of Health Sciences involved in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases (Radiographers)

Course timetable

Theoretical online teaching in 6 different modules lasting 2 days each (Friday-Saturday).

Two one-week (20 hours) hands-on practice (the 1^st in January and the 2^nd in June) in our center or practice of equal hours in a certified vascular laboratory.

Examinations on the lecture content take place in February for the 1^st semester, in June for the 2^nd semester and in September for those who have failed.

The practical sessions include performing scans with patients.

Allocation of Thesis and supervisor takes place in June, and you can immediately begin to work on your project. You will work on your research project, submitting progress reports, giving progress presentation and submitting a draft, before final submission in January.
