I am a Doctor (graduation 2000, School of Medicine of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki) Cardiologist (2010, title of specialization in Cardiology Prefecture of Athens) and I have been serving since October 2015 as Supervisor A' at the University Hospital of Larissa with prior service as Supervisor B' of Cardiology at the General Hospital of Karditsa (February 2011 – October 2015).
In 2009 I completed the Master's Program (MSc) "Exercise and Health" from the Department of Physical Education and Sports of the University of Thessaly (Dissertation: "The effect of a 12-week exercise-walking program on heart rate recovery in 1The minute after exercise in heart failure patients"), while in 2010 I received my PhD with an emphasis on molecular medicine from the Medical School of the University of Crete (Dissertation: "Study of the expression of metalloproteases and their inhibitors in aneurysms of the ascending aorta").
From October 2010 to February 2011 I attended the short introductory specialization program in electrophysiology and pacemaker implantation and programming at the Athens Erricos Dunan Hospital.
From February 2014 to August 2014, with KESY approval, I specialized in heart failure (advanced heart failure, left ventricular assist devices, pre-transplant control and follow-up after heart transplantation) at the People's Hospital of Athens under the supervision of Professor Ioannis Nana.
From January to July 2018, with KESY approval, I specialized in cardiorespiratory stress testing and cardiac rehabilitation programs at G.N. Evangelism of Athens under the supervision of Professor Seraphim Nana.
Since 2009 I am a member of the Heart Failure Association of the European Society of Cardiology. Since 2014 I have been a member, after a crisis, of the Working Group of the European Society of Cardiology dealing with myocardial function and since 2017 I have been a member, after a crisis, of the Working Group of the European Society of Cardiology dealing with the pharmacotherapy of the cardiovascular system. Since 2010 I have been a member of the Hellenic Society of Toxicology and in 2017 I was elected a member of its Board of Directors.
In 2016 I was deemed competent by EUROTOX for the title of European Registered Toxicologist (ERT).
I am a reviewer in several international scientific journals such as the European Journal of Pharmacology, Clinical and Experimental Pharmacology and Physiology, American Journal of Cardiology, Food Chemical Toxicology, Scandinavian Journal of Medicine & Science in Sports, Toxicology, Current Vascular Pharmacology.
I teach in undergraduate (EKPA School of Medicine) and postgraduate programs (PM "Toxicology", Department of Biochemistry & Biotechnology of the University of Thessaly, PM "Exercise, Ergospirometry and Rehabilitation", interdepartmental PM of the School of Medicine and TEFAA of the University of Thessaly, PM "Exercise and Health", TEFAA University of Thessaly) and I have (co)supervised 5 postgraduate theses.
