BRIEF BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE

Eleni A. Koromoki, MD, PhD, FESO

Eleni Koromoki graduated in 2002 from the Medical School of the University of Athens. From 2007 to 2011 he trained at the Therapeutic Clinic of the University of Athens receiving in 2011 the title of the medical specialty of Pathology. In the same year, she successfully defended her doctoral thesis receiving the title of Doctor from the School of Medicine of the University of Athens with a grade of "Excellent".

During the years 2012-2014 she worked as a postdoctoral researcher with a scholarship of the Hellenic Society of Hypertension at the Therapeutic Clinic of the University of Athens, focusing on the correlation of the cardiovascular system, arterial hypertension and cerebrovascular diseases.

During the years 2014-2016 she retrained in stroke as a salaried postdoctoral clinical researcher at the Department of Brain Sciences, Imperial College London in the United Kingdom under the supervision of Professor of Neurology Roland Veltkamp.

From 2016 to 2018, he worked as a consultant Pathologist specializing in "Arterial Hypertension" and "Vascular Strokes" at the First Neurological Clinic of the University of Athens (Aeginetio Hospital).

From November 2018 until today, she has been working as a Pathology Curator at the Therapeutic Clinic of EKPA (Alexandra Hospital) and since October 2022 she holds the position of Curator A'. At the same time, he maintains a research collaboration with the Department of Neurosciences of the Imperial University of London. \

During the COVID-19 pandemic, she was scientifically responsible for the COVID unit as well as the post-COVID clinic, while simultaneously participating in the research activities of the Therapeutic Clinic. He also participated in the educational activities of the Therapeutic Clinic as well as in the educational program organized by the Ministry of Health (KEDIVIM) for the training of Doctors for the disease COVID-19 at a pan-Hellenic level.

Ms. Koroboki has participated in a large number of clinical studies and research protocols and is a member of the author group in >120 publications in international journals (pubmed: Korompoki E, Koroboki E) and in more than 150 communications in international conferences. He participates in the conduct of multicenter clinical studies and has been a member (co-applicant) of research groups that received funding for the conduct of clinical studies in the field of stroke in Greece and in Europe (ELIDEK, Horizon 2020).

During the period 2017-2022 he was a member of the European Stroke Organization Guideline Board member.

He was a member of the writing group of the guidelines of the European Stroke Organization for the management of antithrombotic treatment in patients with stroke and atrial fibrillation. He is a founding member of the Hellenic Stroke Organization and from 2022 he holds the position of Secretary General, he is an active member of the European and World Stroke Organization and a member of the Hellenic and European Hypertension Society. Her clinical and research interest is focused on the primary and secondary prevention of stroke as well as the treatment during the acute phase.
