Welcome to the Master's Program "Deontology and Ethics in Biomedical Sciences"

A few words...

The Department of Medicine and the Department of Nursing of the University of Thessaly operate the Interdepartmental Master's Program "Deontology and Ethics in Biomedical Sciences" (Government Gazette of Re-establishment 1592/B/2021), which leads to the granting of a Master's Degree. The program aims to provide a high level postgraduate education in matters of legal ethics and ethical concerns that arise in daily practice, by utilizing the knowledge and experience of the faculty members of the Department of Medicine and the Department of Nursing of the University of Thessaly, as well as faculty members of other Universities domestic and foreign.

Target

The D.P.M.S. has as its object the delineation and restoration of important concepts and principles of Ethics and Ethics that govern the entire range of Health Sciences including all Bio-sciences in general. Acquainting students with the ethical, legal principles and issues related to the practice of Medicine and Health Sciences as well as Bio-sciences will contribute to arming them in the exercise of their professional duties with the aim of avoiding errors in the future, capable of threaten their professional status and dignity. Understanding that we live in a society of conflicting beliefs where critical inquiry and ethical reasoning are necessary conditions for decision-making is integral to everyday practice and contemporary research in Medicine and the Life Sciences.
