INTERDEPARTMENTAL PROGRAM OF GRADUATE STUDIES
The Department of Medicine and the Department of Nursing of the School of Health Sciences of the University of Thessaly, announce the start of submission of applications for the academic year 2023-2024 of the Interdepartmental Master's Program (M.P.S.) entitled: "Ethics and Ethics in Biomedical Sciences", which leads to the awarding of a corresponding Master's Degree and is governed by the Master's Degree Regulations of the University of Thessaly.
The D.P.M.S. has as its object the delineation and restoration of important concepts and principles of Ethics and Ethics that govern the entire range of Health Sciences including all Bio-sciences in general. Acquainting students with the ethical, legal principles and issues related to the practice of Medicine and Health Sciences as well as Bio-sciences will contribute to arming them in the exercise of their professional duties with the aim of avoiding errors in the future, capable of threaten their professional status and dignity. Understanding that we live in a society of conflicting beliefs where critical inquiry and ethical reasoning are necessary conditions for decision-making is integral to everyday practice and contemporary research in Medicine and the Life Sciences.
In D.P.M.S. "Ethics and Ethics in Biomedical Sciences" graduates of the Departments of Health Sciences Schools (Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Biology, Pharmacy, Molecular Biology and Genetics, Veterinary Medicine, Physiotherapy) of the local universities are accepted as Masters Students or similar institutions abroad, which are related to the academic subject of the D.P.M.S., as well as ATEI graduates with related subjects (Medical laboratories, Radiologic Technologists, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Midwifery).
The duration of studies for the awarding of the Postgraduate Diploma (MPS) is defined in three (3) semesters, starting in October 2023. they amount to 2,500 euros (1st semester: 1,000 euros, 2nd semester: 1,000 euros, 3rd semester: 500 euros). The number of admitted students is limited to thirty (30) students per year.
In order to obtain the Graduate Diploma, students must accumulate 90 Credit Units (ECTS) in total, from the monitoring and examination as well as from the preparation of a postgraduate thesis. Students must attend eight (8) compulsory courses.
The courses of the D.P.M.S. are carried out one (1) time in the month Friday afternoon and Saturday. There is the possibility of teaching the theoretical courses through distance education in accordance with the legal provisions.
The language of instruction of the D.P.M.S. is Greek. The language of thesis preparation is both Greek and English.
The selection of students at DPMS is made after evaluation of the following supporting documents:
1. Application for Candidacy (on the DPMS website)
2. Detailed curriculum vitae (according to a model you will find in the FORMS section on the DPMS website)
3. Copy of degree or certificate that the candidate has fulfilled his educational obligations. In the case of foreign university graduates, a certificate of recognition from DOATAP must be submitted
4. Copy of Detailed Score
5. Scientific publications, distinctions, and evidence of research activity (if any)
6. Evidence of professional experience (if any)
7. Two letters of recommendation (from employer or professor)
8. Photocopy of two sides of ID or PASSPORT
9. Proof of knowledge of foreign languages officially translated
10. One photo ID
