"Thrombosis and Antithrombotic Treatment"

The Department of Medicine of the School of Health Sciences of the University of Thessaly, announces the start of applications for the academic year 2020-2021 of the Master's Program (M.S.) entitled: "Thrombosis and Antithrombotic Therapy", which leads to the awarding of a corresponding Postgraduate Diploma and is governed by the Postgraduate Regulations of the University of Thessaly.

The P.M.S. its mission is to cultivate and promote, through academic and applied teaching and research, the high-level training of researchers and health professionals in the preventive control, diagnosis and treatment of thrombosis, but also in the thorough knowledge of the various antithrombotic drugs, their use and in dealing with their complications. To provide its Graduates with the necessary supplies that will ensure their proper training for their academic, scientific and research careers internationally.

In P.M.S. Graduates of the Departments of Medicine of the Schools of Health Sciences of the national HEIs or affiliated institutions abroad, as well as graduates of other departments of universities and ATEIs related to the subject of the Program, are accepted as Postgraduate Students (MSS).

The duration of studies for the awarding of the Postgraduate Studies Diploma (MPS) is defined in three (3) semesters, starting in February 2021. The tuition fees of the P.M.S. they amount to 750 euros for each of the first two semesters and 500 euros for the last/third semester.

Scholarship for the preparation of a Doctoral Dissertation at the Department of Medicine of the University of Thessaly, is given to one of the excellent students based on his score, on the condition that he completes his studies normally at the end of the study cycle he originally participated in. The amount of the scholarship amounts to €2,000.

In order to obtain the Graduate Diploma, students must accumulate 90 Credit Units (ECTS) in total, from monitoring and examination as well as from the preparation of a postgraduate thesis. Students must attend nine (9) compulsory courses. The courses of P.M.S. they take place once a month on Friday afternoon and Saturday. The teaching language of P.M.S. is Greek and/or English. The language of thesis preparation can be both Greek and English.

The selection of students in the PMS is made after evaluation of the following supporting documents:

  1. Application form
  2. Detailed curriculum vitae (as per template)
  3. Copy of degree or certificate that the candidate has fulfilled his educational obligations. In the case of foreign university graduates, a certificate of recognition from DOATAP must be submitted
  4. Copy of Detailed Score
  5. Scientific publications, awards, and evidence of research activity (if any)
  6. Evidence of professional experience (if any)
  7. Two letters of recommendation
  8. Photocopy of two sides of the police ID
  9. Proof of knowledge of foreign languages officially translated
  10. One photo ID
