Konstantinos Antonopoulos

Konstantinos Antonopoulos was born in Athens and studied at the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, from where he graduated in 2004.

Then, after completing the mandatory field service, he completed 3 years of General Surgery at the General Hospital of Nice-Piraeus "Agios Panteleimon".

Then, he completed 4 years of Vascular Surgery specialty at the "Attikon" University General Hospital and received the title of Vascular Surgery specialty. He retrained at the Vascular Surgery Clinic of "King's College Hospital" in London and worked as a Vascular Surgeon at the "Chest, Heart, Vascular" Clinic of the Athens General Hospital "O Evangelismos". Today he is Curator at the University Vascular Surgery Clinic of the "Attica" Hospital.

He holds a PhD from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and two postgraduate degrees in endovascular techniques and research methodology and biostatistics.

He has participated as an author in more than 110 papers in foreign language pubmed-indexed scientific journals and as a speaker in numerous conferences in Greece and abroad.

He has been a scientific associate at the Laboratory of Hygiene, Epidemiology and Medical Statistics of the University of Athens since 2004, with Professor E. Petridou in charge, where he gained significant experience in data analysis and research methodology.

Additionally, he has participated as an investigator in international randomized multicenter studies.

He is a lecturer in the Master's Program "Special Intensive Care Units" and the Transnational Master's Program "Endovascular Techniques", of the School of Medicine of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, as well as in the Master's Program "Thrombosis and Antithrombotic Education" of the School of Medicine of the University of Thessaly .

He has received the "SVS International Scholarship 2018" from the American Society of Vascular Surgery, with which he visited the Vascular Surgery Clinics at Cleveland Clinic, Ohio, USA and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Presbyterian, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA.

He has also received the scholarship of the European Society of Vascular Surgery "ESVS Educational Travel Grant 2018". He is the father of two children, Nikolas and Seraphim, with whom he spends his free time creatively.
