Matsagas Miltiadis
Miltiadis I. Matsagas, MD, PhD, FEBVS (e-mail: mimats@med.uth.gr)
He was born in Zitsa, Ioannina, on 11/05/1963.
He is Professor of Vascular Surgery at the Department of Medicine of the University of Thessaly and also works as a Vascular Surgeon at the Vascular Surgery Clinic P.G.N. Larisa.
He is a Founding member and Deputy President of the Institute of Vascular Diseases (IAD) (2010-present).
He is also a Founding member and was Special Secretary (2014-2016), member of the Board of Directors (2016-2018) and is Secretary General of the Institute for Study and Education in Thrombosis and Antithrombotic Education (2018-2020). He is Deputy Secretary of the European Society of Cardiovascular and Endovascular Surgery (ESCVS) (May 2017-present).
He is a Councilor of the European Society of Vascular Surgery (ESVS) (September 2018-present). He was Vice-President of the Hellenic Society of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery (2015-2017).
He is Editor of the scientific journal of the Hellenic Vascular Society entitled: Hellenic Journal of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery (April 2018-present), Member of the Editorial Board of EJVES (2011-2017) and Deputy Editor of the Journal of Angiology and of the journal Surgery Research and Practice (2013-present). Active participation as organizer, chairperson, trainer and speaker of the LIVE International Vascular Surgery Symposium.
He is the Director of the Graduate Program of the University of Thessaly entitled: "Thrombosis and Antithrombotic Education" (October 2018-present).
He is Principal Investigator in 8 Clinical Studies & Research Programs. He is the Supervisor of 11 Doctoral Theses (8 have been completed). He is a member of 2 guidelines drafting committees. He is a Reviewer in 21 international scientific journals in foreign languages and a Visiting Professor in 2 Universities abroad.
He has 135 publications in foreign language scientific journals with an impact factor: (Scopus last search 10/07/2019)
